Itto Sushi

Itto Sushi is a fancy little sushi restaurant located in the University Place mall, off University Parkway and State street in Orem. Like many of the businesses at University Place, it gives off a vibe of being new, cutting-edge, and unique. The restaurant has a cool, sleek feel to it, with unique decorations and paintings adorning its walls. The atmosphere seems to be geared towards high-class dining, yet still appealing towards a younger crowd. Either way, Itto Sushi has plenty to offer for anybody looking to get some high-quality sushi in the Provo/Orem area.

Plus, before or after your meal, there’s always plenty to do and see at the University Place mall, including a movie theater, musical fountain, and tons of stores, making Itto Sushi a great dinner destination for a fun date night.

The service at Itto Sushi was excellent, with many finely-dressed waiters and waitresses serving the tables, and with the usually fairly small crowd, you can expect to get all the attention you need. There’s plenty of seating at Itto Sushi, whether for it’s just for two or the whole family. The seating area seems small, yet not cramped, at least when it’s not too crowded. While it does seem to be a popular destination for many BYU or UVU college students, it doesn’t seem to be very crowded during a usual afternoon. From what I’ve heard, however, it can get pretty busy at nights, so if you’re planning on going to Itto Sushi, make sure to plan for a little extra wait time just in case.

The first thing you’re usually handed when you’re seated is the special menu, with a couple of rolls that are sold at a discount for the day. These usually include their signature rolls, so the price is still quite high, but definitely worth trying at least one.

The full menu is simple, with nothing out-of-the-ordinary for a sushi restaurant, but the sushi quality is excellent. With a couple of signature rolls, like the Romeo and Juliet (which we would highly recommend), Itto Sushi sets itself a little apart from the many other sushi restaurants simply by superior taste and unique flavors.

As it is to be expected at any sushi restaurant, the prices at Itto Sushi are quite high, so expect to spend at least fifteen dollars a person, even if you only want one or two rolls. To anybody who frequents sushi restaurants, this shouldn’t be a surprise, but I would consider Itto Sushi to be among the higher-priced sushi restaurants. That being said, I believe the quality of service and food make up for it, but to anybody looking for a cheap meal, I would not recommend Itto Sushi. However, to anyone looking for high-quality sushi and a fancy date night, Itto Sushi is the place to go.
