Cupbop

Cupbop is a new restaurant found in Provo, West Valley, Salt Lake City, and several other locations in Utah. Cupbop is Korean bbq made right in front of you. Their menu is pretty small, but they still have lots of choices to choose from. I am not a fan of spicy food, and there was plenty of options for me, as well as for my husband, who loves spicy food. Cupbop is growing pretty fast. They have food trucks all over Salt Lake City as well as Provo. The actual restaurant itself can be found in West Valley and several other locations in Utah. I noticed that the prices at the food trucks are more expensive than at the restaurant, so definitely go to the restaurant. The food portions are also twice the size at the restaurant, so you get more food for your money.

The restaurant is super clean. I was actually super impressed how clean it was. It is also very clearly a Korean place. Its really cool to see the fancy chairs and tables with Korean characters on them and the different styles. There is also Korean music playing. The tv was on as well with Korean pop star artists performing music. The staff was quiet, so it was hard to hear what they were saying, but they were very nice. They were also super fast. Our food was ready to go within 2 minutes of ordering it. Cupbop is very similar to Subway. You tell the staff members what kind of meat you want. Then they grab a giant Korean bowl and they will ask you if you want vegetables in it. The vegetables are just cabbage and lettuce shredded up. Then they will put rice in (your choice of brown or white) and rice noodles.

They will also put in whatever type of meat you chose. Lastly, they put special sauces on and its ready to go! You can choose from a Shake Bop, Combo, B Bop, Kko-Kko Bop, Noodle Bop, Ugly Pop Bop, Hot Bop, Mandoo, or Doochi Bop. I ordered the Ugly Pop Bop. It was super delicious! The sauces they add are what make it super delicious. You can choose to make your sauce mild or spicy. I chose a 0 on spicy so very mild. It was super creamy and sweet. It makes the rice and noodles taste extra good with the friend chicken. My husband ordered the Combo meal and got tofu and chicken. He also got the spicy sauce. He didn’t think it was very spicy, but if you aren’t one for spicy, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Overall, Cupbop is delicious. It is super filling though as well. One bowl at cupbop (just the small size) was enough to last me two whole meals. I do have to admit, Cupbop doesn’t taste as great once it is warmed up in the microwave. Most of the time I cant tell a difference with leftovers, but the chicken didn’t taste as great when it was warmed up. Otherwise, it is still really good!
