This place is incredible! Even if you live an hour or two away, you should definitely come visit Sequest! Seaquest is found in Layton, Utah. It is a smaller size aquarium that is found inside Layton Mall. But size doesn’t matter because this aquarium actually takes up almost all of the bottom floor of the mall! Not only is this an aquarium, but it is also interactive! Seaquest lets anyone feed, touch, and hold almost every animal in their aquarium (making it an interactive aquarium versus the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium which is also awesome!)

This aquarium is smaller. It is not as big as the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, however, it still took me two hours to get through all of the exhibits and I am not one to sit and read about every fish and plant in the aquarium. Pricing is also relatively cheaper than the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium especially if you have a groupon. You will end up paying more for tokens to feed the animals though if you decide you want to do that. Otherwise, it is pretty cheap and I definitely think I got my money’s worth for going for just over two hours.

I recommend getting to the aquarium early. Both times I went to Seaquest, it was crowded and there was a long line to get in. The good news is the line moves fast. The bad news, is most people come to feed the animals which as you can imagine, they get full when everybody feeds them snacks all day. So, if you want to be able to feed the animals, get there when Seaquest opens, and the animals will be all about eating food out of your hands. I got there around noon and the stingrays were the only animals who would consistently eat snacks the rest of the afternoon.

When you first walk in, there is a giant canoe for kids to play in and some giant alligators that are cool to see. There is also the iguanas cage which you can go inside!! I thought this as so cool. There are over 15 iguanas in the cage and you can hold and pet the iguanas and even fed them if they are hungry. You literally walk into their cage and the iguanas don’t move a whole ton. After the iguanas there is the starfish and octopus tank where you can feel live starfish. There are also some cool snakes, bugs, and shark eggs that you can look at.

My favorite exhibit was the stingrays! I am absolutely obsessed with stingrays and spent over an hour easily in this exhibit. There is a massive tank full of stingrays and all sorts of fish. These stingrays LOVE people. I got soaked from petting them and feeding them. The stingrays will literally splash half of their bodies out of the water to eat the fish in your hands. Its pretty cool! There are also some fish tanks where you can put your hands and feet in for a “natural manicure and pedicure” which felt super funny.

Lastly, pirates and mermaids will swim around the aquarium and allow kids to talk pictures and talk to them. The gift shop is also right at the end of the exhibit. I highly recommend, there is so much to see and do even for adults. I thought it was pretty incredible, but I also love going to any aquarium.
