The Renaissance Festival at Thanksgiving Point is a fun celebration of the past. Taking place at Electric Park in Thanksgiving Point, this faire takes place every August. Most often, it is at Electric Park, but with increasing popularity and numbers, it most likely will move to the Utah State Fair Grounds in the coming years.

The Renaissance Festival is a chance for everyone to dress up and celebrate knights, vikings, fairies, and mythological creatures. There is so much to do, and the festival lasts for 3 days! Many food vendors come with specialty foods like butter beer, turkey legs, corn on the cob, freshly squeezed lemonade, chicken biscuits, chicken fingers, funnel cakes, and more. There are also loads of activities and things to do.
Every other hour, there are shows. Some of these include escape artists, belly dancers, sword fighting, magic tricks, and puppet shows. At the beginning and end of the day, there are the infamous jousting shows that everyone comes to see. The jousting shows are the most popular of the shows and last for about an hour. With real horses, real jousts, and real people, it is a show you don’t want to miss.

King and Queen Richard attend the Renaissance Festival as well. They head the Queens feast which anyone can attend for $60. This feast is massive and takes place every night. It also includes a show following dinner. For those who just attend the festival, it is $15 a ticket for one day. If you volunteer, you can attend for free with four hours of service.
The Renaissance Festival is popular all around the United States, but the biggest festivals are in Colorado and Arizona. These festivals last all summer long, so it is definitely worth it to come see the Renaissance Festival in Utah. With more support, the festivals can run longer and more amazing acts come to perform.

Besides shows and food, there are many exquisite shops that attend the festival as well. Speciality writing pens, questivals, mermaids, and fairies all attend too. You can purchase photos with mermaids and fairies to commemorate your time at the festival. You can also buy a variety of souvenirs and Renaissance outfits to wear time and time again at each festival. Some of the more popular souvenirs are the flower crowns and outfits for purchase. Last but not least, bands come to play here and provide olde time music to enjoy all throughout the weekend.

I highly recommend that Renaissance Festival to all people. It is especially fun for families to enjoy together. There is much to do and see. It is also fairly priced for the value and time that you spend at the festival. All of the volunteers and staff members are also really great and friendly providing a helping hand for all and giving directions to cool things to see and do.
