Cotopaxi Gear Grab

Cotopaxi is an up-and-coming business in Utah that provides the highest quality sporting gear. They are recognized by their llama logo that is displayed on every product they sell. The most common products that you will see around Utah from them are their backpacks. They are unmistakable and super durable for any student, athlete, or business person. Unfortunately, because this gear is so popular and high quality, it can be very expensive to purchase. But, this doesn’t mean that you wont ever be able to buy their products, because they offer warehouse expeditions for over 75% off!

These expeditions are just as they sound. You enter one of their giant warehouses in their Salt Lake City headquarters, and you search for the products that you would like. What makes this an expedition though, is the fact that the products are not sorted out at all, but they are all in boxes all over the warehouse. I was super overwhelmed when I first walked in. Literally, the entire warehouse is just stacked with opened boxes and gear popping out. Hundreds of people come just to get their winter gear on discount.

This might sound really stressful, especially if you are an organized person, but I promise it is worth it to go, especially if you need snow gear or winter gear of any sort. I did notice some boxes were labeled with whether the gear was for males or females, and roughly the sizes, but other than that, each box contained random products.

Towards the front when you first walk in, there are massive piles of water bottles available for $10. These water bottles are the high-quality thermos kind that keep your drinks warm or cold for longer periods of time.

The fancy backpacks I mentioned early were available for only $10! This is totally unheard of because normally they are at least $100. Several fancy camelbaks were also available for purchase around $30-40. The most common item found in the warehouse was snow gear though. Hundreds of coats, snow pants, ski pants, hats, gloves, and event ski shorts and goggles were seen in monstrous stacks. I was disappointed not to find snowshoes, skis, snowboards, or other winter gear there. It was mostly just winter attire that was extremely marked down.

Computer bags, school backpacks, and straps were also found in many piles. If you are new to Utah, winter, snow, or the mountains, I highly recommend watching for the next gear grab event. This is a fantastic and super cheap way to prepare yourself for the snow so that you can enjoy the mountains in Utah. I am an avid skier and snowshoe adventurer. Snow gear is typically very expensive but lasts for a long time and will keep you warm as you enjoy the snow. Some other stores and gear providers will have sales for snow gear and winter gear, but I have never seen such high-quality gear available for such cheap prices, than the ones found at Cotopaxi’s gear grab event.
