The Color Festival is unlike anything you have ever been to before! This Color Festival was at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork, Utah. It was actually really cool and super fun! The festival started super early and lasted for three days. The festival also actually took place outside of the temple as well as on the temple.

Definitely wear white! It is impossible to not get colors on you, so be prepared! I am not sure what the festival celebrates, but it is fun! All ages and all people are welcome, you don’t have to be a member of the temple of religious group to go. Every hour on the hour, there is a Color Throw. Everybody who purchased color packets and chalk powder throws it up in the air and it lands on everyone! From a distance, it is a giant cloud of color, and looks super stunning! In the meantime, artists from Argentina and all over the world come to sing and dance and everyone can learn as well.

At this specific color festival, there were three different shows going on. So, while you throw colors on people and dance around, you can also watch shows.

There was a magic show, a dancing show, and the performing artists show, which also happens to be the main show. These shows are super high energy and everyone dances and sings together. Many people also bring chairs and will sit and watch or sit in the grass. If you decide you need a break, there is so much else to do as well! On the entrance in, there is a mini market where you can buy cultured gear and clothes to wear around the festival and also to remember the festival. There are also dozens of vendors selling corndogs, corn on the cob, popcorn, cotton candy, and some cultural foods as well. I think I saw a few chicken legs and noodle like foods. In the back of the temple, you can purchase color packets as well as color swag gear. The temple is the main part of the festival. You can walk around the top part of the temple and look inside the windows, but that’s about it.

There is also a small lake filled with ducks and fish that provide a good break from the festival. Beyond the lake, there is a small playground for kids, since the festival gets super crowded, really fast! There is also a barn with peacocks and llamas. This past time, they got all colorful too which was fun to see. But the festival is certainly worth going to get all colorful and dirty and take pictures together. The colors come out super easy in the wash, except for on white but that’s why you go! Big beach balls get thrown around in the crowd, and yoga classes are taught in massive grass fields throughout the festival. Make sure to bring a mask so you don’t inhale colors!
