City Creek Mall

City Creek Mall is one of the coolest malls you will ever walk through! It is found in Salt Lake City, Utah and is both an indoor and an outdoor mall. As the name implies, it is in the middle of Salt Lake City. If you aren’t searching for it, you are probably in it! This mall stretches through the heart of downtown Salt Lake City and is huge! A bridge connects the mall from two different points making it even bigger. There is a small creek that runs throughout the mall and is connected to several water features.

In the summer time, in the heart of the mall, there are squirt up jets that kids can run and play in. This provides a fun and safe atmosphere in the middle of the city for kids to enjoy and take a break. It also allows parents to relax for a few minutes before shopping again. Mostly in winter, but sometimes throughout and season, there is one of three water dancing features. Apparently Utah only has three of these special fountains and one of them sits directly next to the squirt up jets. Music will play (mostly Christmas) and the water features will start dancing to the music and even fire will perform as well.

This is super fun to watch and is very similar to the water feature at the University Mall in Orem. Besides these water features, there are several twisty water works, and statues that decorate the path throughout the mall. This is a great way to tell if you have found the mall because it is so big.

The mall also has a fun giant ornament in the winter time where santa sits. When it snows, there is an outdoor fire place to warm up as you walk from store to store. The creek also has fish that you can feed too which makes it really fun especially in the summer time.

This mall has two to three different levels in it. This can get confusing when you are inside the stores because the entrances and exits all lead to different levels within the mall. Sometimes there are free events that are hosted around the mall. There is free yoga in the summertime as well as fall which athlete often hosts. The Disney store will often host free meet and greets with Disney characters as well as movie showings. The gym found in the upper floor of the gym also provides free workout sessions a lot which is fun to do outside when the weather is nice. Food trucks often surround the perimeter of the mall on Thursdays for business people as well as shoppers to enjoy while walking around the mall. There are also speakers that play music as you walk through the mall.

There is a food court found at the bottom level of the shopping mall as well to satisfy food needs. Lots of shops surround the mall and the mall is super clean. This mall gets very crowded during the summer months, but it is still a great way to get exercise and walk around!
