BYU Outdoors Unlimited

BYU Outdoors Unlimited is found just North of BYU campus in Provo, Utah. Its right next to the Museum of Cultures and Peoples. This store is absolutely amazing and has great retail events for loyal customers. Since Utah is home to hundreds of recreational activities, BYU Outdoors is one of the cheapest places to rent and purchase outdoor gear for any activity. Rentals run as cheap as $5 a person and go as expensive as $20 a person. The best news, is that anyone can rent and buy from BYU Outdoors!

Not only is this store in an optimum location, but it also has great retail events. At the end of the ski season, they have huge sales where you can purchase used rentals from the previous season for super cheap! They don’t advertise this event very well because the demand is super high. So if you are interested in purchasing any outdoors equipment for a great deal and for great quality, make sure to eye your facebook page after following BYU Outdoors Unlimited. This event lasts as long as the equipment doesn’t all sell out.

Besides major retail events, BYU Outdoors consistently is ranked as the number one rental place for anything outdoors. There is literally anything and everything outdoors available to rent to anyone. The catch is, its first come first serve. I have rented out snowshoes, skiis, helmets, and boots. Each time, I have gotten the very last of each of these items to rent because it is so popular! So, if you plan any outdoor adventures anytime soon, be sure to rent your equipment fast. BYU Outdoors does have a policy that you can only rent for 1-3 days at a time so that others get a chance to rent as well.

Each rental period is exactly 24 hours as well. My husband has a huge foot (size 16) and BYU Outdoors is the only rental company in Utah that carries his size. This is another great reason to rent through BYU Outdoors.

Lastly, the staff is incredible! I went skiing for the first time recently, and the employees walked me through the entire process of getting ski boots on, to putting the gear in my car. This one woman was especially awesome. I walked in on a Friday at 4pm in the afternoon and BYU Outdoors was crazy busy with students, families, and retired people all waiting to check out ski gear. This woman helped my husband and I find boots to fit our sizes and then pick out helmets. She also helped us take everything to the checkout counter. Then, the guy at the check out counter was super fast and got skiis fit to both of our sizes. He also sizes the poles just right and made sure that the equipment was not faulty. Then he helped us carry all of our gear over to the final checkout counter where the checkout took 30 seconds.
