Auntie Raez Dessert Island

Have you ever watched Downton Abbey or an older show similar to it and wanted to experience what that lifestyle was like? Did it ever look interesting to attend a “tea party” or a “tea time” but was often too expensive or you couldn’t fit it into your schedule? You are in luck! Auntie Raez Dessert Island is a new business that is just north of Salt Lake City. This cute business is a great deal for the money you will spend on a tea party, and gives you the experience of having a tea party. Not only does this business host tea parties, but they also host birthday parties, corporate parties, and corporate meetings.

I happened to come upon Auntie Raez through a groupon encounter. I was able to purchase a tea party plus meal for 2 for $20. The really nice thing about this groupon though, was that it allowed me to come to Auntie Raez whenever I wanted within working hours and on weekends, as well as not have to reserve a time. If you live in Provo, the drive is about 45 minutes to get there, but it is well worth it! I happened to go on a rainy day when it was very cold and tea was perfect for the occasion.

I will admit, most of the people at Auntie Raez’s were older women all enjoying lunch together and catching up. I did notice one corporate meeting occurring there, but it was when I was leaving. Many people did go alone, and enjoyed a book with their tea.

I really enjoyed my experience. The lady in charge was very quick getting us to our seats, getting our tea, and meals ready as well. There were over 20 different types of teas, hot chocolates, and coffees to choose from. The tea was very hot when it was ready, and the lady gave us cute little tea cups and tea silverware. My husband happened to come with me, and he really enjoyed the snacks before our meal. The snacks that come with the groupon include small crackers and bites. But the meal was especially delightful. The meal comes with small sandwiches that you enjoy with your tea. You get a variety, as well as many bite sized desserts, and muffins.

I honestly enjoyed the meal more than the actual tea, but this was also my first time ever having tea. The desserts were absolutely amazing, and everything was very delicious.

For interested moms: Auntie Raez includes a kids section where there is an indoor play place and childrens corner for coloring, playing, and watching a movie. This makes it really nice for moms to get out for a break while their kids play. The decorations all around the small house that this business is located in, make it very festive and lively. A warning, it is very hard to find Auntie Raez from driving in. This business literally exists inside of a house. There is a small water fountain feature with an old fashioned sign that indicate its existence.
