The American Fork Fitness Center is located in American Fork, UT. Occasionally, they will host a few hours to attend the free health fair, as well as see the fitness center and work out for free! This is an awesome opportunity if you are looking for a new place to workout, find fitness classes, have your child learn to swim, go swimming, or join a sports team or league.

The health fair was only four hours on a Saturday in January. It was rather packed as well. This was my first time going to this fitness center, as I normally go to Provo Recreation Center. However, I will admit, as soon as my membership expires with Provo Recreation Center, I will probably switch over to American Fork Fitness Center. This fitness center is older. It does not look as clean or new as Provo Rec, which is only five years old, however, similar classes are offered (including different ones that Provo Rec doesn’t offer), the pool is bigger, and the inside track is bigger. American Fork Fitness Center is also cheaper than Provo Rec.

So, if you are looking to save money on a gym membership but still want high quality, American Fork Fitness Center is definitely the way to go. It is also closer to home if you don’t live in Orem or Provo.

The health fair had numerous activities including: free health examinations, physicals, BMI testing, and overall fitness testing, free gymnasts to watch perform, cotton candy, numerous businesses looking to hire or sell products, free massages and chiropractic alignments, and many games for kids to play as well as a jumpy house. This is the perfect event to have your kids get some energy out as well as get free physicals required to play sports at school. It is also great for mom and dad to sign up for fitness classes and activities to get them more active and out of the house. I actually won a free massage by entering my name into the raffle drawing which I thought was pretty cool.

This event is also a great way to see what is available to do around American Fork. I particularly was interested in the scuba diving classes that are offered at the fitness center and taught through a partnering business in Provo. I also really enjoyed touring the fitness center. The fitness center is HUGE. I got lost three times actually just trying to find the pool. The pool is very unique as it has a giant blowup cover thing that allows it to be an indoor pool, as well as an outdoor pool when summer starts. It is super kid friendly, as well as offering lap lanes for more serious swimmers. There are slides, in water basketball hoops, diving boards, and eventually in summer, there are squirt up water jets. I also thought the indoor track was bigger than Provo Rec’s. There are fitness rooms for ballet, yoga, and barre classes, but not as many as Provo Rec.

Before you leave the fair though, be sure to check out the classes available for kids and adults as well as the photo booth machine!
