The Tulip Festival is a wonderful flower and tulip celebration that is only found at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah. This festival happens every April/May. It is only open for a few short weeks, so make sure to purchase your tickets online fast so that you don’t miss this spring celebration! In the past, many people waited too long to get their tickets and were not able to see the festival, so be sure to sign up for the Thanksgiving Point email list so that you can stay on top of getting your tickets early, as well as many other events and festivities that happen at Thanksgiving Point.

The Tulip Festival is often a tour led by an employee at Thanksgiving Point. You can also choose to pay more for just walking through the festival by yourself, or you can pay to run the 5k or 10k that happens all throughout the festival and around all of the tulips. I bought tickets to just go to the festival with the tour guide since it was cheaper. Be aware, all of the events and festivals at Thanksgiving Point have at least a $20 admission. If you become a member and purchase the yearly pass, these events are “free.”

I purchased my ticket about two months before the festival even started and got the very last ticket for that day. I went on a Tuesday afternoon around lunchtime and it was very rainy and wet. I was actually surprised to see so many people still come to the festival. I checked in for the tour just past the dinosaur museum check in point. The tour started at the very back of the festival and we walked all throughout all of the acres of flowers. There were SO many tulips! Every color of tulip was represented as well as over 5 different types of tulips. Most were in full bloom, but many were still blooming. I went at the end of April and the festival starts at the beginning of April until mid May. There were also thousands of lights and cool structures from which tulips were highlighted, glowing, and hanging around. We were not allowed to touch or pick any of the tulips for obvious reasons, but at the end of the tour, you could purchase tulip seeds to grow your own tulips at home.

The tour was about two hours, because there is much to see and the festival is massive. You can also purchase souvenirs to remember your visit and for kids to enjoy after the tour. Our tour guide was awesome. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. She was able to answer any questions we had and provided us with information about more things to do at Thanksgiving Point as well as more events coming up. Thanksgiving Point tries to put on monthly and weekly events so that families have something to look forward to and to keep themselves busy. I recommend this tour to everyone. There are special needs and wheelchair support available so that even grandparents can come too!
