ple Turtle is located in American Fork, Utah. It stands out on the side of the street with a giant purple turtle holding a hamburger. Purple Turtle is open Monday through Saturday from 10am – 10 pm. If you love shakes, hamburgers, and fries you will love Purple Turtle!
I have to admit, I wasn’t sure about Purple Turtle at first. It does look older on the outside, and there is hardly any parking. It can be easy to pass by it you miss the giant purple turtle. But definitely give this place a chance! I went around lunch time and it was actually fairly busy. There were several families all with younger children and several older people all enjoying lunch.

My husband and I were greeted by some very nice workers there. They were fast at taking our orders and were super friendly. The workers all wear bright purple shirts and cannot be missed. There are several lunch and dinner specials to choose from. The menu is sorted out between burgers, salads and tacos, drinks, fish, sandwiches, kids meals, ice cream, shakes, chicken tenders, and a la carte. Over half of the menu is shakes and specialty shakes. I did not get a shake because I was pretty full after my meal at Purple Turtle, but I could tell that everyone at Purple Turtle who had a shake, really enjoyed it.
I ordered the 2-piece chicken tenders with fries, and my husband ordered the mushroom burger with onion rings. Both meals came with toast on the side, a drink, and “pink sauce.” I really like the chicken tenders. They are approximately four times the size of chicken tenders at McDonalds or Wendys, and I actually thought they tasted better. The fries were also really good and had lots of spices on them. The “pink sauce” is very similar to fry sauce which is most common at restaurants in Utah. It dd have a different twist to it, but was still really good. I especially liked to dip my fries into my “pink sauce.”

My husband loved his hamburger! I tried some of his onion rings, and I actually enjoyed them more than the fries. You cant go wrong with either, and you can actually order tater tots instead of fries or onion rings if you would like. The service was super fast, by the time I got my drink, the food was ready about two minutes later. The drink station was actually quite unique as you could choose various sodas and add flavorings to them like vanilla or cherry. The two different drink machines have different drink options, so look at both before getting your drink!
Purple Turtle looks very similar to McDonalds on the inside. It is pretty clean, and rather small. All of the chairs and tables are purple matching to their logo. There are also various photos on the wall of purple turtles skiing, playing tennis, and golfing. Sometimes community event flyers are posted on the community wall which can help you stay involved in American Fork. I would definitely recommend Purple Turtle to everyone and especially families with smaller children.
