If you are not a big downhill skier, or into snow tubing, you might enjoy Cross Country skiing! Jeremy Ranch is a private golf club, restaurant, and cross country skiing place. It is located in Park City, Utah. Just because it is private, doesn’t mean that you have to be a member to come though! In fact, the only “private club” part about Jeremy Ranch is the golf club and the restaurant. Cross Country skiing is completely open to the public. I actually found a Groupon where it was between $46-52 for two people to cross country ski all day and it included rentals. This was a great deal!

I absolutely loved cross country skiing. I thought it was much easier and I was less afraid of falling down on my face and completely face planting down the mountain. The Jeremy Ranch cross country course is actually their entire golf course, just covered in snow. Officials go out early each morning and groom the trails for you to ski on. It is mostly flat, except for two small hills and several curves to make your trail more interesting. They do have a “trainer” trail which is like a frozen over implanted trail for you to learn how to cross country ski on since it is so different from down hill skiing. The golf course is absolutely massive! It took me just under two hours to go all the way around and back to the start of the trail.
The trail is absolutely gorgeous!

There are several bridges that are fun to ski over with running streams below. Ducks and birds fly around and swim in the water. The course is hidden between mountains in a valley area and the snow is mostly untouched except for animals trails and ski trails. The golf course is surrounded by huge, expensive houses in Park City, so even if you don’t enjoy nature all that much, there are lots of beautiful homes to admire while you ski. The trail is more designed for beginners in cross country skiing and is more open spaced than enclosed by trees. It is still a blast though!

The staff was super nice and accommodating. I called about two weeks ahead to reserve spots for skiing and the staff was super friendly. The day of, I got stuck in a snow storm so I arrived an hour later and they didn’t mind. Once I checked in, a staff member brought out ski rentals for me including boots and poles. He even helped me put them on and load them into the car. He gave me instructions on where to go and the trail was super easy to find. I skied for about two hours, went back to the lodge and then went back out for another two hours. My legs were exhausted after that, but the lodge is very clean and very neat looking. It was fun to explore and look at the gift shop. As part of the rental package for the day, customers can get up to 25% off at the discount store and 10% off at the restaurant.
My experience was truly magical, and I strongly recommend this activity for anyone! It is a great way to get outside and enjoy the snow while also getting some good exercise.
