Christmas at Cabelas

Cabela’s is a nationwide store that suits outdoors needs, recreation, and sports products.

However, Cabela’s in Lehi has a specific event suited just for Lehi residents. This is Christmas at the North Pole! When you first walk in, Cabela’s has a super strong pine forest smell that draws you in closer to see what all is within the store. In order to find the North Pole, children must go on an adventure.

A giant Christmas tree will greet you at the front door with dozens of sparkling lights. As you

continue along the “North Pole Path,” tons of stuffed animals are decorated along a giant mountain in the middle of the store. This is like a mini museum for the children to look around. Live fish swim around in the mini aquarium within the store. Its actually quite large and there are lots of huge fish swimming

around. There are some cool decorations in the fish tanks as well. At the bottom of the mountain, there is a small pond that have koi and other large fish swimming around. Sometimes families can pay to feed them, but it depends on the day. Going to the right of the store, a mini “Build a Bear Workshop” is available for kids to take home an animal friend with them. There are several different kinds of animals and friends the children can pump stuffing into. For the next month or so, there are “specialty” animals for the holiday season and Disney characters that kids can pick out. Going past this, you will see a trail of fake snow and candy which leads right up to the North Pole! Santa will be sitting in the center along

with several elf friends to help each child sit on Santa’s lap. There are many activities for the children to do including coloring, painting, eating candy snacks, sitting on Santa’s lap, and some more arts and crafts.

Of course, behind Santa are rows of gingerbread house kits for children to make their own

gingerbread house either at the store or at home. There is also a Santa Mail box so that the kids can write down their Christmas wishes for Santa after telling him so that he had a reminder. There is a mini Santa Workshop with fake reindeer for lots of Christmas card photos. This is not all! Cabelas is also known for many more family friendly activities.

There is an archery shooting range for families to practice their Hunger Games skills, a laser gun shooting range (totally kid friendly – put the coin in the machine and shoot lasers for up to 2 minutes ), a fun “Mountain” diner to eat together as a family, cool airplanes hang

around the ceiling, dozens of Christmas trees are on display as well as Christmas decorations for sale all around the store, and of course, there are TOYS! This is the perfect place for dad to get all of his recreational needs and gear for

the winter season and for hunting. It also provides mom with free entertainment and kids can pick out the toys they want for Christmas.

Cabela’s is nationwide, but only in Lehi do all of these events and activities take place. Hurry in! Santa is only here until Christmas Eve!
